SSEES has an unrivalled range of expertise and degree programmes for the study of Central, Eastern and South-East Europe and Russia in language, literature, culture and film, history, politics, economics and business.

Sixteen languages are taught at SSEES - including Albanian, Bulgarian, Czech, Slovak, Finnish, Hungarian, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Serbian/Croatian, Ukrainian - at BA level, MA level, for research training and in evening classes.
SSEES languages form a major part of the SOAS-UCL Centre of Excellence in Teaching and Learning, Languages of the Wider World.
