AT THE HEART OF CENTRAL EUROPE:
GREAT WRITERS AND THE RUPTURES OF THE 20TH CENTURY
This month the UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies (SSEES) will host a seminar to launch a new series from Penguin Books of 10 classics of Central European literature.
Details of the books and authors
Among those participating at the seminar will be HE Dr Michal Žantovský, Czech Ambassador to the UK; HE Dr Emil Brix, Austrian Ambassador to the UK; writer and academic, Eva Hoffman; writer Stephen Vizinczey; Dr Rajendra Chitnis, Senior Lecturer at Bristol University and Dr Peter Zusi (UCL SSEES). The event will provide an opportunity to discuss the books and their context with the panels of speakers.
The seminar will be from 2.00-5.00pm Saturday 15 May 2010 in the Wilkins Gustave Tuck Lecture Theatre, 2nd Floor Main Building, South Cloisters, Gower Street, London WC1E 6BT.
