UCL SSEES Library

The Miscellaneous section of the Library contains books on Eastern Europe as a whole, books that deal with more than one country or region within Eastern Europe, and those that focus on a theoretical rather than regional approach. Books that deal with geographical areas outside the scope of the Library can also be found here. Books in this section have the classmark Misc.

Particular strengths of this collection are economics, history and politics. Misc.IX, the section on history is particularly large and contains extensive material on the Second World War and the Cold War. Among the economics books (Misc.XVI) there can be found a considerable number on economies in transition and the enlargement of the European Union. Political parties across Europe, and to a lesser extent the rest of the world, are covered at Misc.X, and books on politics and political thought and history can be found at Misc.XII.

The core of the Miscellaneous section can be found on the First Floor of the Library, although many older volumes are held in the Stores.
