Opportunities for institutional cooperation
SSEES is one of the world's leading specialist institutions, and the largest national centre in the UK, for the study of Central, Eastern and South-East Europe and Russia. More than 60 academic staff work at UCL SSEES, teaching and conducting research in the history, economics, politics, sociology, anthropology, culture, literature and languages of the countries of the region.
SSEES has five interdisciplinary research centres and leads the inter-university Centre for East European Language Based Area Studies (CEELBAS) as well as the Erasmus Mundus International Masters in Economy, State and Society.
SSEES academics are regularly funded for undertaking collaborative and individual research (and teaching initiatives) and in recent years have been funded by many major funders including the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), British Academy, British Medical Association and European Union among others.
If you would like to know more about our international links or about collaborating with SSEES academics in research and related initiatives please contact SSEES's International Tutor for further information.
