Compulsory:
0.5 cu     Seminars in History
0.5 cu     Modern Historiography
1.0 cu     World Histories
1.0 cu     Eastern Europe Since 1856

One or Two from the following (to the value of 1.0 cu): (Subject to Availability)
Either:     a language level 1 course (1.0 cu)
Or:           an approved Course in another discipline (1.0 cu or 2 x 0.5 cus)

Compulsory:
        Group 2 History paper at SSEES or another college* (1.0 cu)

Plus three course-units, from:
One or two of:
        Group 1(a) or 1(b)** History paper
        Approved History paper at another college*

One or two of:
        A language level 1 or 2 course (see above)
        An approved course in another discipline

Compulsory:
        Group 3 History paper either at SSEES or another college* (2.0 cus)

Plus two course-units from:
One or two of:
        Group 1(a) or 1(b)** History paper
        Group 2 History paper *
        Approved History paper at another college*
        Free-standing dissertation (10,000 words)

Up to one of:
        Language level 2 or above (if not already taken)
        An approved course in another discipline

** Remember Group 1(b) courses are worth 0.5 cu and must be taken in pairs.

Please note: some courses are inevitably oversubscribed. Alternatively, some courses have so few takers that they are not considered to be worth running. These constraints mean that your course choices cannot be guaranteed. In selecting course options it is always advisable to include SSEES courses as, at least, reserve choices.
